Ooooo...u may hav hit on sumpin there! Did what u said....it didnt seem 2 giv any confirmation so after hittin save twice, i backed up bact to here....& 1st tried clicking link 2 my last post...it looped correctly right back to it!....then did same on link 2 ur post & again, it went 2 correct place, lined up from top of post, as wel, so maybe there is a change. Now for real test, gotta try some copy/paste/send to self/open & see if this holds true...hmmmm

"O-66".....B I N G O ! ! (O..for Opera & 66 for posts' # i linked back to, properly)

jmwking...VERY GOOD find on ur part! ...esp since seeemingly so obscure a thing (altho i CAN see the possib correlation re: "link folding" proper & how it manifested in this, sort of abstracted way). Seems like the scripting/transcoding is flawed or incomplete..?

I did a "double-blind" or "no-bout-a-doubt-it" confirmation (cuz i'm seriously genetically connected to "Murphy"). I copied/pasted the links...2 diff ones...in2 email & sent2self, opened & just as was the case, w/simply clicking the links, both took me to the exactly correct & lined up post. I then went 2 config & turned back on & rechecked & wouldnt-ya know....the problem reappeared & then i went & turned off again & eureka--solid fix!

Actually this is a double fix 4me, cuz there is apparently no copy function in the context menu at the link itself (in mini), but i discovered that clicking the link, then quickly long-holding the url in addy bar, does indeed produce the copy function in the context menu popup at THAT location. You have to do it fairly quickly tho, b4 the "findpost" url redirects to the next page url. Pretty easy w/touchscreen. Can be done via curser also, but then u must be even quicker, to navigate the cursor to the right spot. Dont know if that also (or either issue, for that matter..) is a bonafide "bug"(s)...or if i should report as such? You didnt say if u did or not, but all i know is that i came to forum w/2 basic issues i wanted help with...the big one, related to om6 died...& this 2 part (missing copy function in c-menu & the [apparently] misaligned anchors). 1st, re: the om6 issue, i tried doing a bug report (hadnt even discovered forum yet) & they dont even respond, by default, 'cept in my case they responded 2 tell me i supposedly didnt do report correctly. Then found forum & asked numerous times & ways, re: that, and this link issue, but got no responses. I asked for employee help, but nuttin. Finally, frustrated, i simply expressed my dismay at that, saying surely, SOMEONE must have SOME response...and that garnered a slap at my ettiquette, by some1, as tho i had been rude, which inho, i was not. Later tho, sghouse chimed in & was as helpful as he was able, but there was alot of misreading of ea other & went round alot w/o any known cause or fix. Several times i requested some official help but nothin....

So, you da man! In fact i dont know if you are a mod or anything, but i hereby (un)officially deem you: "honorary" mod/opera-guy.

Incidently, u mentioned how u discovered this switchoff of folding, fixed 2 (or a couple?) diff issues. Do u happen 2 remember what the other was?

thx again. Good thing for good scrolling speed & smoothness, in case i should heretofore encounter any monster sized "unfolded" link lists...haha.

p.s. while ur at it, got any clus as to why a perfectly good working (approx a yr & a half) om6 suddenly & w/o any warning or known rhyme/reason, around begin of sept., will no longer open...loadbar stops at 80% ? Unbelieveably, i cant even so much as find a refernce to such a problem, anywhere on the net or forum.
