i think that somewhere above i stated that if i put saved pgs in2 a folder, they wouldnt show, but if i put them loose on root, then they worked. At some earlier time that may or may not have been true, but currently, the mistake is that my saved pgs are indeed in a main folder on the root & work fine from there. I also had tried putting in a subfolder, called "saved pages" & when i put my saved pgs in there, then they wouldnt open (from mini button). So i took them out of that subfolder & put back into main folder & they work again. The main folder is "Other". I cannot remember anymore if that folder was system created (on my sd card), or if i manually created originally? I will try creating another main folder of some other name & try putting the saved pgs in it & then testing. I'll report finding, for clarity. (am using mini next/java phone/cdma/sd card[no simm] ).
I notice that some of the .ombl files end in 15, some in 16. Appreciate any insight into possible important significance of?
If i find that i can creat a diff main folder & saved pgs also work from there, then i'll try splitting some to one, some to other, to see if i can both create & choose from. If so, then i'd like to know if such multiple main pg folders, will ea retain their own SEPERATE limit of how many can be saved w/o a problem. I plan on testing those ideas, but i think anyone else's experience w/same would be a valuable post.
Beyond that & assuming that such multiple folders can be used, both to help in categorizing as well as overcoming single folder limits, the next questions would be: if & when any or all of such saved pgs becomes (inevidebly?) lost, missing, non-functioning, whatever....from the omini function side of things, then, can the saved pgs on my sd card (or on your device memory, simm, ??, if thats how it works for you) then be used to "restore" any such apparently lost (as many have seemed to report having lost them in various scenarios) saved pages, whether from sd card or pc backup of those .ombl files? And as importantly, if not more so, can they be used to add or restore across mini upgrades? If the preceeding ideas do in fact work that way, then it would seem to me that such would be a COMPLETE backup solution for saved pages, bookmarks & speeddials (regardless of reliability of opera link), since one could also save any bkmrks and/or speeddials, in a redundant saved pgs fashion. I'm probably wrong about part or all of it, as it sounds too good to be true (save all saved pgs, bkmrks & speddials, as a saved pg., .ombl15/16/x? file & backup that simple text file (or archive), never have to worry about any server side or mini malfunction...whatever...causing a loss of any of it. I must be wrong....but i'll try to test it all.
