Well, they've sold several million BB10 devices, so there is an existing and currently growing market. I'd agree that Android updates are more important, but it's hard to see how the port would be so difficult as to be completely ignored for this long.
I wouldn't count BB out just yet. I'm no fanboy, they royally screwed up the BB10 device rollout, but the company still has a lot of resources, & the BB10 OS is clearly the way they are going.
The Z10 will probably be replaced at the top of their line fairly soon, but the OS, or an iteration of it, will be continuing.
BB screwed up when, despite the long delay, the new OS was unstable and still buggy when they started selling devices. From what I can tell most of the returns they got were due to this - indeed I almost returned my Z10 for that reason. It's a great device if it worked right - unfortunately it doesn't, at least not yet. Their inability to get the software update that fixes the majority of the problems rolled out by the major US carriers has massively contributed to the issue.
Share price is largely irrelevant except it make holders who bought when it was higher upset. So they pressure management to do things to improve it. At some point the company might be broken up or sold. But even that doesn't necessarily mean the OS is going away.
