Features introduced in Opera Mini 7.0
  • Support for more than 9 speed dials
One common complaint has been the restrictions on the number of speed dials. We have now solved this and you can add as many as you like, or in practice as many as your device can handle. Syncing your speed dials between desktop and Opera Mini should be a much nicer experience now. Note that there are a couple of known issues when syncing with Opera Link. Speed dials may move around unexpectedly and the order can be inconsistent. We have also added a convenient way to add new speed dials: just press the star found in the address bar.
  • Improved support for RTL in UI
Right-to-left text in UI elements should now be correctly drawn. We would like to fix as many of the these bugs as possible, so if you find issues, please report them.
  • Reworked session restore
When you exit Opera Mini with open tabs, the same tabs will be opened automatically the next time you start Opera Mini. No matter if the battery goes flat in the meanwhile.
  • Tab improvements
Tabs are now closed with one click. And when you close a tab, Opera Mini will switch to the one you used last.
  • Zoom setting
Do you use text-wrapping for convenient reading? Do you think the font is too small? With the new zoom setting you can adjust the size for comfortable reading. This setting also affects single column view mode.
  • Improved traffic compression
We managed to get even better savings on Retina devices (iPod 4g, iPhone 4 and iPhone 4s). This means not only higher savings, but also faster page loading. If you have one of those devices you'll love this version even more than the previous one.
  • Support for built-in dictionary
Select a word that you would like to look-up. If it's a valid entry in the built-in dictionary, additional context menu option "define" will appear.
  • Open Google Maps in native application
If there's an embedded map on page and you click it, Opera Mini will take you directly to the native application. It's really handy when you want your smartphone to calculate the best route to that place.
  • Photo upload
Now, you can upload photos from your camera roll.

There are also a couple of smaller changes that include:
  • No more "www." in address bar. The auto completion still supports it, though.
  • Improved UI when finding text in page.
  • Updated to dark keyboard to match Opera UI.
  • Various UI face lifts like context menu shadows etc.
  • Various stability and performance fixes.

As always please keep the comments coming and report issues in our bug wizzard.

Happy browsing!
