What phone model is this? and what link are you trying to download? Can you share it with me on here?
1) Can you check how much free space is on the device? Go to 'Options'>'System'. How much free space is available? On some devices, if you have no space free, you will simply get a 'download failed' instead of a message advising you there is no more free space.
2) What folder are you trying to save the file to? Some folders are not writeable. Try downloading to the 'pictures' directory for example.
3) Make sure the phone is not connected and mounted to your PC. You will not be able to write to the SDcard if this is the case.
