Ok...1st, "applications"&"saved pages" (as you 1st spoke of) are two entirely different things, as far as i know. An "application (or an "app") is a local program you install on your phone, such as opera mini, google maps, games, etc. I believe they can exist & work both along with your browser or independent of your browser. Depending on the device, i believe, they are saved in phones memory or on card.
"saved pages", on the other hand, are web pages you visit w/browser & you can save that page like a snapshot in time of the entire page, which you can later choose to view offline or online. They are saved in the opera mini proprietory form as ".obml" files & support text & graphics. They are device & browser version interdependent.
Im not assuming you dont understand above, but i felt maybe those 2 elements needed to be defined & differentated, cuz it sounds like maybe there's some confusion. Sorry if its my confusion.
Apps normally would open from an APPS or applications folder. When they dont open, IF they have previously opened, theyve become corrupted, to my knowledge. If they never open in the 1st place, they might be corrupt or incompatable with device.
Saved pages, are saved on memory card as a file that same browser version that created it is a reader of. Sometimes, i think, little bugs cause the files to temporarily (maybe sometimes permanently) "disappear" from the folder where they are supposed to be. I have reported on the fact that when that happens, sometimes the memory card folder pointing/saving steps, need to be repeated to get past the glitch & then they reappear in the folder.
And then there's the "speedial" shortcuts, similar to bookmarks & saved on opera mini servers, if you activate the sync/link feature. The speedial shortcuts are the only thing i can think of that are on the starpage (as you mention the location of what you are referencing. If they are what wont open, my only guess would be the site they represent is no longer in use or a url change.
So i think 1 of the above features needs to be picked as which one you are talking about.
Does that help at all or am i not getting it?
