confusing... your orig post stated that you tried to reinstall, w/o success.... but now you say you didn't "uninstall or reinstall", so maybe a little language confusion, but what I mean, is that in some cases, a problem such as you described, requires you to 1st uninstall the app, then reinstall fresh. if you don't uninstall 1st, then it's an "overwrite", which might not correct the problem, if its due to the app (or associated files) having become corrupt. So...there's a good chance, that if you uninstall, then reinstall, it'll start working again.
if you had previously activated the sync link feature, your bkmrks, at least in theory, should be saved on the opera servers, for you. if not, make sure to activate the feature for going fwd.
