Please try doing this:-
Assuming that you have a touch device.
1.You can either hold gmail icon for a second, x-button pops out tap on x-button and tap "done" (on bottom left of the screen)
2.Or on the speeddail screen (start page) scroll down you might find "manage" option tap on that, x-buttons pops out
tap on that,tap on "done".
